Volume

Calculate volumes of cuboids, prisms, cylinders, and spheres. This free GCSE Maths module combines short explanations, worked examples, flashcard-style recall, and timed practice so students can revise the topic without creating an account.

Foundation Skills

Cuboid

Formula: V = l × w × h

Example: 5 × 3 × 4 = 60 cm³

Prism

Volume = area of cross-section × length.

Formula: V = A × l

Example: Triangular prism: A = ½ × 6 × 4 = 12 V = 12 × 10 = 120 cm³

Higher Skills

Cylinder

Formula: V = πr²h

Example: r=3, h=10: V = π(9)(10) = 282.7 cm³

Sphere

Formula: V = ⁴⁄₃πr³

Example: r=6: V = ⁴⁄₃ × π × 216 = 904.8 cm³
