GCSE Maths Revision Guide

Vectors

Work with column vectors and vector geometry. This free GCSE Maths module combines short explanations, worked examples, flashcard-style recall, and timed practice so students can revise the topic without creating an account.

Foundation Skills

Column Vectors

Shows movement: top number is x (left/right), bottom is y (up/down).

Example: [3, -2] means 3 right, 2 down.

Adding Vectors

Add the top numbers and add the bottom numbers separately.

Example: [1, 2] + [3, 4] = [4, 6]

Multiplying by a Scalar

Multiply both components by the number outside.

Example: 3 × [2, 1] = [6, 3]

Higher Skills

Vector Geometry

Find paths across a shape by following known vectors. `BA = −AB`.

Parallel Vectors

Two vectors are parallel if one is a multiple of the other.

Example: [1, 2] is parallel to [5, 10].

Midpoints & Ratios

Use ratios to find parts of vectors (e.g. "P is 1/3 of the way along AB").
