GCSE Maths Revision Guide
Two-Way Tables
Extracting and filling probability tables linking two variables. This free GCSE Maths module combines short explanations, worked examples, flashcard-style recall, and timed practice so students can revise the topic without creating an account.
Foundation Skills
The Layout
A grid that compares two categories (e.g. Boys/Girls vs Bus/Walk/Car).
Totals Check
The totals of the rows must add up perfectly to the grand total, and the totals of the columns must do exactly the same.
Finding Probabilities
Probability = (Cell Value) / (Grand Total).
Example: 10 boys walk out of 50 total students → 10/50 = 1/5.
Higher Skills
Conditional Probability
Watch out for questions saying "Given that...". This means you only look at one specific row or column, not the grand total!
Combined Categories
You may need to add multiple cells together before dividing by the total.
Setting Up from Words
Read the story carefully and fill in the known values. Usually, you have to find several "hidden" values to solve the final part.
